America is in the spotlight with its upcoming election. Other countries are watching to see who will be in charge of a powerful country. Citizens watch the news more than ever to see who the next president will be.
Former President Donald Trump and current Vice President Kamala Harris both are running for President of the United States. The two had their final debate on October 22, 2024. While some Americans might not watch politics when they are on social media, they will likely see discussions about politics.
“They’re eating the dogs, they’re eating the cats…” are the words Donald Trump spoke regarding Haitian immigrants in Ohio. Social media quickly took that phrase and made it into something people laughed at.
Others have pointed out how Harris was talking under her breath about how Trump’s stances were not right. What was supposed to be a serious time for the candidates to sway the citizens just turned into a laughing stock on social media.
Across the internet, people were mocking the candidates. YouTube videos on Trump’s speech about the Haitian immigrants were released. A remix of it is on Spotify as well. However, the media is also focusing on Kamala Harris’s campaign using the phrase“brat summer” during one of her rallies.
Many Americans may disagree with the plans the candidates have for America if they become president. Project 2025 is a plan Trump has if he were to become president again. According to BBC “Project 2025 aims to end diversity, equity and inclusion programs in schools and government departments.”
Harris’s plan for America is that if she becomes president, her website says she will plan to cut family costs and work to improve business for small businesses and entrepreneurs. Both candidates have plans for America, no matter who wins a group of people will be outraged.
