In September of 2024, local band “Strantz Brothers” released their fifth song, “Tear it Up,” bringing back vibes from older music. A local band, The Strantz brothers is led by Brayden Strantz from Mt Vernon High School.
The overall feel of “Tear It Up” is just like their original song, “Burnout.” It goes back to the heavier rock feel, unlike their more recent music such as “Wild Inside.” When compared to their earlier music, it is easy to see that the vocals and wordplay in the lyrics have improved greatly.
Brayden Strantz, vocalist and drummer for the band said, ”We have recently been experimenting with newer music and vocals and after working on perfecting the craft we felt we could release new music that would be popular for the people.”
While his music has gotten way better, they still have a way to go. The guitar solos and drums are fun to listen to, and
the lyrics are amazing, but the vocals can seem a little dry and single toned at times.
After letting ten randomly selected students during the third lunch period who had not heard the song listen to it, nine out of ten enjoyed the song and were surprised to hear it was by a high school band.
Overall, their music has improved and the song is very good for a young startup band. It has great potential to match their ability to make great music
