The 1996 classic horror movie called “Scream,”written by Kevin Williamson and directed by Wes Craven has become one of the most popular horror movies of all time. The popular movie stars some well-known actors and actresses like Drew Berrymore as Casey Becker, Skeet Ulrich as Billy Loomis, and Courtney Cox as Gale Weathers. It is especially popular during the Halloween season. The slasher movie has turned into a franchise of six movies, soon to become seven. It is one of my favorite movies to watch during the spooky season.
The reason I enjoy this movie so much is because of the suspense, it certainly kept me on the edge of my seat. This movie is like a classical horror movie, but sets it apart because of how it breaks the rules of other horror movies. Casey is home alone and gets a call from an unknown number asking her things about scary movies. It escalates quickly and becomes suspenseful when the mystery man says he is going to kill her if she does not answer his questions correctly. Everyone in the town is now fighting because of the mystery ghostface terrorizing their town.
The other movies in the franchise are also interesting. They have similar plots, but are not completely the same. Ghostface is the killer in every movie, but is a different person with different antics and reasons. I think it is fun that the franchise can keep going without it getting too boring and repetitive.
