“Extraordinary Machine” is an album by Fiona Apple that was released in October of 2005. Multitudes of different people enjoy the art-pop album. The opening song, “Extraordinary Machine,” is about self-love.
Apple uses unconventional background music and instrumentals throughout her albums. For example, she uses many percussion instruments and different settings on electric keyboards. Different keyboard sounds can be found in songs like “Extraordinary Machine” and “Tymps (The Sick in the Head Song).”
Apple has five studio albums and an array of singles. I believe that the best song on this album is “Tymps (The Sick in the Head Song).” The reason that this is my favorite song is because of the piano sounds that open it. That with the other base sounds she uses are very appealing to me. Previously, Apple usually put around ten songs on her albums, but her studio told her she needed more.
In recent years people have started to listen to older music. This album especially goes with the image that influencers, brands, and everyone in general have been trying to display for years. Influencers and other people want people to look at themselves better and have a good self-image of themselves and other people.
Overall, I would give this album a ten out of ten because it has zero songs that I would choose to skip. I would suggest the songs “Not About Love” and “Get Him Back.”
