The mornings are getting colder, the leaves are turning orange and yellow and coffee shops are bringing back their pumpkin spice lattes. With summer almost gone is there anything one could do to keep them and their family entertained during the spooky season? From picking apples to haunted houses, there is actually a lot to choose from.
To start, during the harvest season, one can pick pumpkins and apples at Tuttle’s Orchard. There are hayrides to enjoy and corn mazes to go through and afterward, you can stop by the sweet shop to smell the delicious donuts and scented lotions available.
Hunger is no problem at Tuttle’s. Get dinner and try their beloved apple cider slushies. Spending time at Tuttle’s Orchard is a way for an individual and their family to have a great time together during the fall season.
Another great location to check out would be the zoo. A lot of people think the zoo is only for the summertime, but it can be a perfect hangout spot for the fall season too. Every year they have their Zoo Boo Fest. There are rides including the Round-Go-Merry which, based on the name, the ride goes backward and there is also the Roller Ghoster. The Roller Ghoster has tons of twists and turns that are all Halloween themed. Adults and children can enjoy trick-or-treating in the plains and safaris and the newly added Pumpkin Town where they can have dance parties with Halloween characters in a mirror maze. Choosing to go to the Zoo Boo with one’s family would be a great idea, especially if their family is into Halloween activities.
If an individual’s family is less outgoing and likes to stay in the house as much as possible, a movie would be a fun fall activity. A way to make it fall themed is by getting all the ingredients to make smores. One can put the marshmallows on a skewer and heat them with a s’mores heater or over the stove. If an individual or their family is not huge on s’mores, there are fall cookies, candy corn, or caramel apples.
Those are just a few ideas to get one started on what they and their family can spend their time doing over fall break, but there are plenty more locations to see. Some activities are more adventurous and require people to be more social and others require a blanket at home. In any case, there is always something fun to do for everyone during the autumn season.
