Classes can be boring and note pages can look so empty. So why not spice up those pages by drawing some silly little cats: creatures that will heal the pain of boredom and bring a smile to one’s day. If this sounds fun to you, here are the steps on how to draw these funny goobers.
First, draw the ears. Make two triangles and connect them with a line. This is the top of the head.
The next step is to finish the head. Draw two triangles pointing upwards on either side of the ears. The trick to making the best fur is to put the line at an angle going down, then going straight. Repeat. Once done, draw two lines that are close to each other to make the neck.
Making the eyes and mouth is really easy. For the eyes, make two sideways ovals then add two ovals inside of the original ones. In the middle of the head, draw an upside down triangle for the nose. Color in the smaller pairs of ovals and the nose with whatever pen or pencil is being used. Now the head is done.
Now, his body can be a bit confusing to understand. Look at the picture provided if instructions are unclear. On one line of the neck, draw a longer line. Depending on how big the head is, the length of this line will vary. Just estimate around the size of the head. The more practice, the more it’ll be clear how long the line needs to be. This will be the farthest side of one leg. To make the body, draw an arch from the right neckline. About halfway down, straighten that arch and end the line in the same place as the left neck line.
To create the legs, draw three to the right of the straight line inside of the shape. Try to make them around the same size as the original line. Make sure to keep a portion open for the chest.
When creating the front two paws, make squares that have curved edges. They should poke out to the left side.
To draw the hind legs, continue the arch line, turn it in a curved 90 degree angle and connect it to the nearest paw. A little ways up, make another line parallel to the bottom of the leg, then make a quarter circle. That is one leg done. On the other side, draw a flat, half oval next to the first paw. In this case, it is being drawn on the left side.
Finally, add the swishy tail. This can take a while to master, so play around with it. Make soft wavy lines and connect them at the tip. For an added artistic flair if a strand of fur flying out somewhere is added.
There it is: an easy cat to draw the next time math gets boring. Below are a few more examples of some cats I’ve drawn which might inspire you to get experimental with your own art. experimental. Make wacky poses or draw different types of cats. What will those silly kitties get up to next?
