Princess of Wales, Kate Middleton, ended her brief disappearance with a recorded statement on March 22, 2024. In this statement, she announced that she had been diagnosed with cancer and would begin chemotherapy.
On January 17th, Kensington Palace released a statement saying that Middleton would be going into the hospital for an abdominal surgery. In this statement, they announced that the princess would probably not return to her royal duties and the public eye until after Easter, March 31.
The statement said, “The Princess of Wales appreciates the interest this statement will generate. She hopes that the public will understand her desire to maintain as much normality for her children as possible; and her wish that her personal medical information remains private.”
When undergoing surgery they believed her condition was not cancerous; however, shortly after her doctors revealed that it was, in fact, cancerous.
People theorized on social media that she was fighting with or divorcing from her husband, that he was cheating or that Middleton was recovering from plastic surgery.
These rumors only got worse when a picture circulated of the princess with her children in celebration of Mother’s Day. The rumors rose up when it was revealed that the photo appeared to be edited and manipulated.
Middleton released an apology on her shared X account with her husband saying, “Like many amateur photographers, I do occasionally experiment with editing. I wanted to express my apologies for any confusion the family photograph we shared yesterday caused. I hope everyone celebrating had a very happy Mother’s Day.”
Despite the rumors surrounding Middleton’s disappearance and reappearance, many across the world are praying for good health and recovery for the beloved princess and her family.
