Fighting for Super-Earth and Democracy, Helldivers 2 is a fun, action-packed, and explosive game for gamers looking for a relatively new experience. The lore is great, with a weird and funny twist on galactic warfare, and the visuals are gorgeous.
I bought the game on Steam, but it is also available for purchase on the Playstation Store on the PS5 console. Helldivers is $39.99 on both platforms. The game also has in-game transactions, but this is not required, as it only gives Helldivers more opportunities to get every currency within the game.
The gameplay is just amazing. I love the third-person POV and the mechanics of the game as well. It is very well thought out; from the dive mechanics to stratagems and the different ways players can approach battles. It is somewhat an open-world game too, as each mission has a large map Helldivers can move freely around.
The armor is very cool as well, it reminded me of Destiny 2 armor, a futuristic military with suits and capes. The armor
in Helldivers also changes how players are affected when playing. There are three different types of armor to earn, but my only complaint is that there is no color customization with the armor. Different types of armor with colors exist, but they cannot be changed; so players either set their sights on a specific armor set or have a weird blend of armor pieces that looks messy.
The game’s community is another highlight. Helldivers 2 would not be what it is without the players. A majority of the players are welcoming, and very “patriotic” when it comes to being a Helldiver. They also acknowledge new players and teach them everything they can whilst playing together. As a new player myself, I have not reached this level of patronage. Hopefully I can one day help out other players like I was helped on my first day.
Helldivers 2 is an exciting and different experience. I can only see the game getting a bigger player base, and evolving
as time goes on. I cannot wait to see what they will add in the future, and I will for sure be there to see it. I give Helldivers 2 an eight out of ten and would recommend anyone who loves amazing gameplay, graphics, and communities to play Helldivers 2.
