Many holidays happen every day. Some are understandable, like awareness days, but many seem a bit too random to be considered holidays. Everything has a holiday. And what better to go over some of them in the upcoming month? Here is a list of some days in April including a quick explanation.
April 1: This day is full of weird celebrations. From Edible Book Day to be-kind-to-spiders week, to Trombone Player Day, it is a day of crazy and randomness. Not even to mention it is also April Foo’ls Day.
April 2: This day includes Autism Awareness Day, National Ride Your Horse Into a Bar Day, and National Ferret Day. Who knew that such meaningful days could also include such random animals?
April 3: This is National Walking Day, perfect for people who like to walk and enjoy nature.
April 4: Make sure to say thank you to any librarians on School Librarian Day. Afterward, make a stop at Chipotle for National Burrito Day.
April 5: Ever liked Peeps? Well, April 5th, National Peeps Day, is the perfect time to eat some. Then try a spa day or pamper yourself, as it is National Self-Care Day.
April 6: Today would be a great day to wear pajamas to school since it’s on National Pajama Day. Student-athletes also are appreciated on National Student-Athlete Day.
April 7: Ferrets are such attention hogs – International Beaver Day gives beavers a day for themselves.
April 8: If the previous holidays have not been specific for some people, April 8th is both Draw a Bird Day and Kid’s Yoga Day.
April 9: Mythical creature lovers unite, as it is National Unicorn Day. Celebrate these majestical horned creatures.
April 10: It is Hug Your Dog Day. Make sure to do so, as a man’s best friend deserves to be appreciated.
April 11: Today is strange, hosting both National Ranch Water and Cheese Fondue Day.
April 12: National Only Child Day is for everyone without siblings.
April 13: April 13 is Thomas Jefferson’s birthday, making it National Thomas Jefferson Day.

April 16: English Teachers will appreciate April 16th, as it is National Semicolon Day.
April 17: Try writing a haiku for National Haiku Day. These poems consist of three lines, with a five-seven-five pattern of syllables. Good luck.

April 19: If haiku is not your thing, then feel free to write anything for fun on Poetry and Creative Mind Day. Where will your mind take you?

April 21: National Bulldogs are Beautiful Day proves that there is nothing that does not have a national day. How specific can it get?

April 23: It is National Book Day. Grab a book, sit in a cozy corner, and get lost in the world of literature. Maybe even bug some people with fancy English for National Talk Like Shakespeare Day.
April 24: Today is a large day of unity. Today includes Action Day for Tolerance and Respect People Day, as well as International Day of Multilateralism and Diplomacy for Peace. Whew, say that five times fast.
April 25: I stand corrected by National Today – it can get even more random. The 25th of April is National Hug a Plumber Day and Noise Appreciation Day.
April 26: To add to the hug train, grab an Australian friend and give them a squeeze on Hug an Australian Day.
April 27: This day is the birthday of Woody the Woodpecker and Eeyore the Donkey, two iconic characters in 1900’s animation. They are both celebrated on National Woody the Woodpecker and Eeyore the Donkey Day.
