“Destiny 2: Warlord’s Ruin, Dungeon Two of Lightfall,” released on December 1, 2023. This is probably the best dungeon Bungie has released thus far. From the look of the dungeon to the story, it is just fun all around.
“Warlord’s Ruin” takes place in a dark age castle in the European Dead Zone (EDZ). Guardians learn that the castle has been overrun by The Taken and Scorn. The Guardians of Destiny 2 (D2) have to go in and face their opponents, who aim to stop them from granting a forgotten wish made by a character named Ahamkara.
The armor set for this dungeon is just beautiful. Unlike the recent fashion coming out for the Guardians, it does not glow nor is it even flashy. It is a simple snow fit that looks clean and has lots of fur. I like this, as calmer armor sets are easier to mix and match with other, flashier armor pieces without taking the spotlight.
The weapons are definitely below average. From what I have gathered, none of them are good for PvE or PvP. The only one I used and enjoyed using is Indebted Kindness. It can roll with voltshot, which makes the next hit jolt a target after reloading after defeating an enemy with the weapon. It also is a rocket sidearm which is cool, considering there are not a ton of those in the game.
The secret chests are fun. It gives the dungeon more of that mysterious underground feel to it. I also find it funny how if a player opens a bad chest, the player will be stunned and blown up. It is also very amusing to take new players through it and not tell them about this feature. They will just die and die to these chests and I can sit back and laugh.
Overall, this is a really good dungeon. I had lots of fun my first run through it, and I will continue to play it. I recommend this to any Destiny 2 player who loves the fantasy aspect of the game. I rate this dungeon an eight out of ten, and would play through it again.
