Mt. Vernon High School bowler, Caitlyn Anderson, 12, advanced to the bowling state finals on January 27, 2024.
On February 18th, she competed in state finals along with twenty other female qualifiers.
In her first of four games, Anderson had a good start, striking in her first two frames. She had some struggles to close the rest of her frames in the first game, finishing her first match with a 119.
In the second match, Anderson started to pick it up and racked up a 160 for her second game, bringing her total pinfall to 279.
Anderson finished her third game with a 164 and in the fourth and final game, she got an impressive 190, bringing her final score to 633. After the scores were tallied, Anderson placed sixteenth.
Although she finished her high school bowling career, Anderson made history in the Mt. Vernon Bowling Program, being the first person to advance to state finals.
