Valentine’s Day is just around the corner, and amidst the love and passion in the air, there is an undercurrent of worry from many people who are unsure what they should get their partners. Well do not worry, as I have ten ideas that could brighten up anyone on this day with gifts of love and appreciation.
The first gift idea is food. Who does not like food? Food is the fastest way to a lot of people’s hearts and, if you know their favorite foods, it can be a thoughtful gift that shows how much you care about their tastes. Snacks are also a nice gift to carry around and take on the go.
The second gift idea is flowers. Regardless of a person’s gender, flowers are a heartfelt sign that you love the person you are giving them to. You can even make it extra special by choosing their favorite flower. If you do not know their favorite, taking the time to pick the ones that are fitted for the person and then telling them why the flower reminded you of them can be sweet as well.
The third one is a video game. A lot of people are actually gamers nowadays, so getting someone a video game shows that you care about and respect their hobby. This is also good for someone who is just getting to gaming.
The fourth one is a DIY gift. Any gift made by the gifter is loved due to the hard work and care that was put into the gift. There are a ton of things to make, with a good example being a gift my girlfriend gave me. It was a jar with lyrics from songs that made her think of me. She did this by getting a jar, decorating the outside, then writing lyrics onto small papers and putting them in the jar. It was sort of like a raffle, and I loved it. Hand making gifts can also be great for couples who may not have much money, but still want to show they care on a day centered around love.
The fifth gift is jewelry. Jewelry is definitely a good gift, as it is pretty and will enhance the bond between the person and you, but it really depends on the relationship. I would not recommend getting this for anyone you have just started talking to, or do not talk to often. Not only can this be an expensive gift, but I think this is kind of a serious gesture.
The sixth one is chocolate. I specifically made this its own category, as chocolate is an essential to the long standing involvement of it within American culture, and it’s a food that is special to this day. Buy their favorite chocolate, or maybe even some fancy kind to spice things up. Chocolate is such a common and delicious gift that you really can not go wrong with it.
The seventh one is a love letter. Telling someone how you feel about them on paper is very meaningful and it gives a sense of nostalgia. This is also loving to older people, as this was the only way to communicate back in the day. I remember when I would write them to people all the time. Do not make the mistake of making it cheesy, as it can be very off putting. I would also recommend this to anyone trying to confess.
The eighth gift is clothing. Ever thought someone you loved would look good in a specific piece of clothing? This day would be the perfect excuse for that. I would highly recommend knowing their size of clothing, assuming you are close to the person.
The ninth one is stuffed animals. A lot of people nowadays have giant stuffed animal collections. This can range from their favorite characters in media, or just simple and cute animals. I would also take in consideration the size. If it is a big one, make sure they would have space to put it somewhere.
The tenth and final one is a date. Nice dinners and dressing up to have them are a tradition for many people. Not only is this a fun way to get out of the house with them, but the dates and events make memories, which is what love is about.
In the end, Valentine’s Day is about loving more and appreciating loved ones. No matter what you decide to get them, make sure they feel loved and are happy. Happy Valentine’s Day!
