2024 is here, and with that, I am excited to see and review many movies. These are my top 10 most anticipated movies of 2024. This list will be ordered from least anticipated to most anticipated.
“Kraven the Hunter” is another of Sony’s villain movies, similar to the two “Venom” movies. The only real excitement I have for this movie is that it is a Marvel movie. Besides that, I am predicting this movie will flop, Merely because of the reputation of these Sony Marvel villain movies.
“Madame Web” is another one of Sony’s Marvel movies, with this one taking a different turn. This movie is about a multiversal character in the Marvel Comics named Madame Web. She is usually depicted as an older lady who can see all the lives of the spider people within the Spider-Verse. I love this character, so I am interested in what Sony does with her.
Number eight on my list is “The Old Guard 2.” The first “Old Guard” is about a group of immortals who fight and protect Earth; I liked this movie and it had cool action sequences. This was a Netflix original and Netflix has been releasing decent movies over the past two years, so I am curious about how this movie will turn out.
Number seven is “Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire.” I watch these movies to see giant creatures fight, and the past few Godzilla movies have not disappointed me, so I see no reason why this movie would be worse.
Number six is “Rebel Moon: Part 2-The Scargiver,” a movie by Zack Snyder. I watched the first part and it is just Zack Snyder’s version of Star Wars, with space, a team that fights back against the space government and with robots too. The first part is mediocre at best, and I do not like Zach Snyder’s directing. It is slow and the pacing of his movies is super slow. This movie of course is also like that.
The 5th on the list is “Dune: Part 2.” I have yet to see the first Dune, nor have read any of the books. All I know is that Zendeya is in it, so I will watch the first one eventually. A lot of movies recently have been going the part two route and I like the formula.
My fourth anticipated movie is “Joker: Folie a Deux.” The big news about this movie is that Lady Gaga is playing Harley Quinn and that it is a musical. I do not know what to think about this information, but I loved the first Joker so this being a masterpiece is highly likely.
Number three is “The Fall Guy.” The movie trailer looked so fun and I enjoy Ryan Gosling in pretty much everything I have seen him in. I believe that more movies that have him as the lead are a good idea.
Number two is a “My Hero Academia” movie coming out this year in the summer. This was revealed sometime last year and we have not heard any news since. I am assuming this movie will take place in the second war arc. I always loved MHA so seeing this movie is a must for me.
Number one is “Deadpool 3.” Deadpool one and two were peak Marvel and Hugh Jackman coming back as Wolverine is so nuts. Ryan Renolds as Deadpool is perfect and I really want to see Zazie Beetz back as Domino. I will be seeing this on opening night.
So far this year seems to be packed with movies that I’m excited to check out. Between the amount of movies coming out and the quality they seem to promise, 2024 will be a year to remember in the entertainment industry.
