On May 9, 2023, Respawn Entertainment and Electronic Arts released the 17th season of their hit game Apex Legends. This season is named Arsonal.

In the trailer, Respawn teased a new legend for the game: Ballistic. His passive weapon sling allows him to hold a third gun without any attachments. His tactical smart bullet allows him to fire a single tracking bullet onto enemies, making their guns heat up and stop shooting. His ultimate tempest allows him to shoot at enemies with unlimited ammo and upgrades his gun in his sling to gold, meaning it has the best scope stabilizer and mag, while also increasing reload and movement speed for his teammates.

This season Respawn also updated the world’s edge map, giving new changes such as the Apex Museum and fixing up the previously ruined city fragment. They rebuilt almost all the ruined structures that had been destroyed from lava siphon while modernizing Bloodhundrs trials.

They also fixed up the firing range by adding buildings, doors and minigames for players to train, These items were all moved from Kings Canyon, which was, according to the storyline, destroyed by the Leviathans.

In total, this season has been called a success by many players. The game developers updated the firing range which the community wanted for a long time, added in the sling passive, a passive that was upvoted by the community, and fixed fragments so it would not be used by camping players as frequently.
