With the school year coming to a close and the weather getting warmer, it is a constant reminder that it is almost summer. With summer comes weeks of things to do, and here are some ideas. Summer is a good time to make memories and to be more productive.

Going to the pool is one fun activity, especially when it is hot, and is a good activity for groups of friends or family. There are many different pools to go to in Indiana, some being neighborhood pools and others being public pools with slides such as Riley Park.

Another good idea for an activity still involving water would be Holiday World Splashin’ Safari in Santa Claus, Indiana. They have a really big waterpark with tons of water coasters and even some pools. It is 40 dollars for one single day ticket.

Hanging out with friends is fun no matter what the season, but with it being hotter there are so many more opportunities. Some simple ones are going to the mall or going to the movies together, and even going out to eat could be fun. For some more exciting options, I recommend going to a theme park, like Kings Island in Ohio, since it is only a couple hours away, it is possible to visit in one day. Some closer options for theme parks in Indiana include Holiday World, Indiana Beach, Kentucky Kingdom, or the state fair.

It can be hard to find things to do at home, but there are many options; some of my favorites are gardening and going on bike rides. Making a flower bed is pretty cheap and a good activity to do over the summer. Going on bike rides is a simple and nice activity to do when it is hot outside.

While there are some ideas of fun things to do over the summer, summer does not last forever, so take advantage of it while the summer is still available. Plus, if none of these options stick out, there is always sleeping in.
