After six years of privacy and little relationship details, Taylor Swift and Joe Alwyn have allegedly broken up. 

This news shocked many fans because of Swift’s public praise of privacy as shown in her song “Paris” from her new album, “Midnights,” where she sings, “Privacy sign on the door. And on my page and on the whole world. Romance is not dead if you keep it just yours.”

Swift and Awlyn have also written many of her hit songs together. Swift even went as far as to dedicate the album “Lover” to Awlyn.

A source close to the pair confirmed to People magazine that the singer and her actor boyfriend were going their separate ways.

Fans were already beginning to question why Alwyn hasn’t been seen so far at any of Taylor Swift’s “Eras Tour” shows. 

Fans were also led to believe the couple had parted when Swift swapped a love song for a song about a breakup on her tour. She even became emotional and cried on stage. 

The speculated reason for Alwyn and Taylor’s break up is that he could not handle the fame of being with one of the world’s largest popstars. The source added, “Joe has struggled with Taylor’s level of fame and the attention from the public.”

The same source also said a reason for the spilt is, “the differences in their personalities have also become harder to ignore after years together.”

Joe Alwyn and Taylor Swift have not commented on the matter. Both the singer and the actor still follow each other on instagram, and have liked each other’s recent posts. 

Swift has also been seen wearing her “J” necklace, a gift given to her by Alwyn in public after the break up rumors. Some think Swift did this to show that they are in fact still together. 

Overall, many of Swift’s fans are waiting for her to come out and confirm or deny the rumors instead of believing an anonymous source.
