On January 1st, 2023, actor Jeremy Renner was hospitalized due to a snowplow incident. The actor, most famous for his role as “Hawkeye” in the Marvel cinematic universe, is currently in recovery and is posting updates periodically on Instagram.

From a 911 call sourced from NBC News, an unknown caller was “screaming” at the dispatcher for help, as Renner had been “completely crushed” by a seven-ton snowplow in Reno, Nevada. According to the caller, Renner was also moaning loudly while simultaneously having difficulty breathing.

Renner himself said that the accident occurred after he used the snowplow to tow another vehicle out of the snow. When he got out to speak to the family, the snowplow started moving, and, as he tried hopping in the front seat to park it, it ran over him, crushing his upper torso.

Renner celebrated his 52nd birthday in the ICU on January 7th, posting some appreciation and thanks to the nurses and doctors on Instagram. Former “Avengers” co-star, Chris Evans, wished him a happy birthday on Instagram, saying, “Happy birthday to one of the toughest guys I know. Sending so much love your way.”

He currently spends his time resting and healing from surgery to mend his “blunt chest trauma and orthopedic injuries,” according to spokesperson Sam Mast.
