“Battlefront II” is a game with many Star Wars characters and game styles. The game is more diverse than other games, with tons of modes and game styles to choose from. Most modes on “Battlefront ll” have the ability to play as heroes, however, most people have no Idea which hero to choose. Heroes in “Battlefront II” are split into two categories: gun and lightsaber. Gun characters are more versatile and will do better at long-range. 

If players want to go around and get kills with less chance of getting killed by the basic trooper class, they will want to play as a gun hero. For gun characters I would recommend Leia Organa and Han Solo for the light side heros, and Iden Versio and Bossk for the dark side. 

Leia’s main weapon is a defender pistol, which has minimal aim, but can deal heavy damage by using the left toggle to charge up the weapon and shoot an explosive blast which builds up heat quicker. Her abilities are three thermal detonators which can be thrown to do damage to enemy players, and are good for clearing out rooms, a squad shield which can be placed to protect Leia and other teammates from blaster fire, and an upgraded E-11 which shoots at 4 shots a second and is good for taking out enemy heros, vehicles and enemy squad shields.

Han uses a DL-44 blaster pistol as his main weapon, which can be zoomed in to hit more accurate shots. Han has three abilities: charge tackle, sharpshooter, and a remote detonator. His charge tackle busts his speed and if he hits any enemies, he knocks them down for a couple seconds; sharpshooter boosts his blasters shooting speed and damage output, and a remote detonator which flings enemies away from it in an explosion.

The first and my personal favorite gun character is Iden Versio. Iden is a special forces commander who is the main character in the campaign for “Battlefront ll.” Her abilities are a bubble shield which protects Iden in a shield bubble blocking her from all damage, stun droid which stuns enemies in its radius temporarily, and a pulse cannon, which she charges up and deals heavy damage.

Next there are melee characters, these are characters that are best-suited for close-range attacks. These include jedi like Anakin and Rey, and sith like Darth Vader and Darth Maul. The best two for the light side are Anakin and Rey, and for the dark side Darth Maul and Count Dooku.

Anakin, a jedi from the clone wars era, is a offense-based character, meant for rushing big groups of enemies and killing them at once with heavy saber strikes. He has abilities like heroic might, pull dominance, and to top it all off, retribution, while for attacking heroes, he uses passionate strike. Heroic might is an ability that takes his surrounding areas, within 7 meters and is slowly charged up, until it releases, killing any basic trooper in its way. Pull dominance is a frontal based ability, which pulls nearby enemies forward, and if fighting heroes, is best comboed with passionate strike, to deal 350 damage. Passionate strikes is a powerful ability that breaks an enemy block dealing 120 damage to that hero or player. Finally retribution is an abilitier, which needs to be charged up by taking damage, dealing damage, and blocking sabers and bullets. When it is fully charged the player can use it by pressing “Y” and chokes any nearby player or hero whether they are blocking or not, dealing 600 damage, killing all players or reinforcements and seriously affecting heros.

Rey, a scavenger by trade, is a character who is more of a support character with abilities like mind trick and insight, but also good on offense with dash strike. Rey also has the most hero skins in the game. Dah’s strike is an ability in which she rushes at two times the speed and any player she hits will be knocked down or killed. Second insight lets her see where nearby players are. And finally, a mind trick which scrambles all players’ movements and inverts the joysticks so they are backwards.

All heroes in the game are great, but some are better for fighting in all areas, and others are better for one style. All that I have rated are for all areas of fighting.
