Jojo Siwa, famous for her time on the television series, “Dance Moms,” has grown her media presence recently after the Disney star came out as part of the LGBTQ+ community. It was announced in late August that Siwa will be on the 30th season of the series “Dancing With the Stars,” but also that she will be the first person in history to dance with a same-sex partner.

The season will premiere on September 20, 2021, and the dancers will rehearse in the weeks before the show airs. For the show, each star is paired with a professional dancer, but the pairs have not yet been announced. There is controversy being raised about Siwa being on the show as a celebrity dancer when she has a background in dancing.

“I’m not gonna hide that I’m a dancer. I was a dancer my whole life,” said Siwa, “It’s gonna help me in a way, but it also is a disadvantage because I guarantee you the judges are one hundred million percent gonna judge me harder than they do everybody else.”

Regardless of how this season plays out, she will already be making history as the first female to have another female dance partner on the show.
