LUV vs the World 2

Gabe Thomas, Staff Writer

Philadelphia rapper Lil Uzi Vert, real name Symere Woods, returns from his monumental album “Eternal Atake,” with the deluxe version. Featuring 14 new songs and titled “LUV (Lil Uzi Vert) vs. the World 2,” the second vs the world album after his critically acclaimed “Lil Uzi Vert vs the World” in 2016. It is what you expect from a Lil Uzi Vert album, songs that are hype.

The album’s production is very nice with production credits from, Oogie Mane, Pi’erre Bourne, Wheezy, Nav and Chief Keef. Uzi’s space theme from “Eternal Atake”
is not followed here, opting for more songs that don’t follow a central theme.

My favorite song on the album has to be “Yessirskiii” featuring British rapper 21 Savage, real name Shayaa Abraham-Joesph, and production from Pi’erre Bourne. This song is a three minute adventure and one I like to listen to while working out. The song is braggadocious, as Lil Uzi and 21 Savage rap about their material wealth and their ability to get with women. If you’re not a fan of this type of rap, then this album is not for you.

This is an album meant to get you hyped. The songs are all fun, but they can be a bit repetitive sometimes.

Overall: 7/10
