Seniors Boycotting ASVAB

The ASVAB was on October 30th and all seniors were told to take it, even seniors that already passed ISTEP and ASVAB. The ASVAB is a multiple choice test, administered by the United States Military Entrance Processing Command, used to determine qualification for enlistment in the United States’ armed forces.

“I don’t think it’s necessary to use my time on a test that I’ve already passed and not academically benefiting me to this point,” said Mallory McKeeman, 12.

Many seniors have already taken the ISTEP and ASVAB, but were still required to take the ASVAB Wednesday.

“Students who have afternoon ICE aren’t required to come to school at all on Wednesday, but every other senior does,” said Mallory McKeeman, 12.

Many seniors were upset about this and think missing that day should be available to all students instead of ones just in ICE.
