Connersville Football Game

The Mount Vernon Varsity Football team won against Connersville 64-0 on October 25th. It was the Varsity team’s second win of the playoffs. The first win came from Yorktown where MV defeated Yorktown 19-8.

We did a nice job mixing up the run and the passing game and keeping their defense off balance,” said Coach Kirschner. “We controlled the line of scrimmage on offense and defense and did not allow them big plays and gave our offense a short field to work with.”

A win like this can improve a team’s chemistry and energy and can be a big factor going forward in finishing the season.

“It is always good to get the first win of the tourney the challenge now is maintaining the level of focus each week in order to make a championship run,” said Coach Kirschner.

The next game for Mount Vernon is Friday, November 1st at 7pm in New Castle.
