The Marauders boys’ basketball season just has begun and is in full swing. So far the boys have gone 2-1, with their first loss against Whiteland, and two subsequent wins against Hamilton Heights and Fishers.

Despite their initial loss, the players are hopeful for the season.

“So far we’ve been working pretty hard,” said Ryan Morris, 11. “We’re ready for the next game; we’ve been preparing all week.”

The Marauder basketball fans have high hopes for the season as well.

“It was a good time in the stands,” said Jaci Dean, 11. “and I think that our energy really helped the players do their best.”

In spite of some initial doubt, the 2018-2019 season has high promise for the Mt. Vernon boys’ basketball program.

“In our game against Fishers, a lot of people didn’t expect us to win,”  said Cade Gentry, 12. “But we had a lot of confidence going into the game. We were able to feed off of the crowd’s energy and the energy from the JV game.”

The boys have high hopes for the rest of the season as they continue to work hard and play hard.
