Football pre-season

As the 2018-2019 school year begins, excitement stirs within the students of Mt. Vernon High School. To some, the school year is nothing eventful and brings very little enthusiasm. However, for many Marauders the school year symbolizes the beginning of a very exciting escapade: football season.

Football at Mt. Vernon has taken its ups and downs in the past, but many believe this year is going to be a good one. As of last April, a new head coach has made his way from Ben Davis to Mt. Vernon, and he has been changing the game.

“Coach Kirschner has changed everything about the program,” said Dylan Cole, 12. “We’re working harder than we’ve ever worked, and I think that it will show this season.”

With a new head coach and quite a bit of hard work, hopes are high for this fall. The first game will take place at Hamilton Heights at 7 pm on August 17.
