Sherlock Gnomes

Sherlock fans rejoice. While this isn’t the fifth season we’ve been looking for, “Sherlock Gnomes” is a new and interesting take on the classic stories of Sherlock and Dr. Watson. While the sequel to “Gnomeo and Juliet” is primarily considered for children, I did enjoy it. The movie does have some hard hitting lessons, especially with Sherlock not appreciating Watson and Juliet not appreciating Gnomeo.

Gnomeo and Juliet and their families move to a new house in London, only for them to get kidnapped. Sherlock Gnomes and Dr. Watson team up with Gnomeo and Juliet to find the missing gnomes and fight the man who stole them away: Moriarty.

My favorite part of the film was the interesting takes on the characters. Moriarty is the evil genius who is Sherlock’s nemesis, and in the movie he is a plastic dough boy who is also the mascot for Moriarty’s Pies. Sherlock and Watson carry on the same personalities that they do in the original stories and the TV series. Johnlock fans will especially enjoy the ending of this move.

Sure they are gnomes, but I found it easy to relate these gnomes to the John Watson and Sherlock Holmes from the TV series. Their personalities didn’t change at all. Overall, I loved this movie. Five stars from this adoring Sherlock fan.
