Most students have heard of the dreaded senioritis, where seniors are just itching to graduate, and it is only January. However, when this occurs to a student who is only a junior, or even a sophomore, it is much worse.

It is understandable that high school is stressful, and there are many reasons and instances that could make a student panic and want to give up on school. Just remember, though, there are so many reasons why students should power through the stress.

“I just try to focus on my end goal of getting into a good college. I won’t lie, junior year has been really hard so far, but my teachers, parents, and friends help keep me focused and motivated,” said Cleo Mills, 11.

It is important to recall that high school is temporary, and although according to many people, these are the “best days of your life,” school and life in general should get a lot better.

Right now, however, it is important to focus on schoolwork and grades, because, even if students do not care right now, they will care down the line. Whether it be when applying for college, or getting a job, actions and grades will come back.

“The idea of putting off all your work is inviting. But just remember, colleges still pay attention right now and they can decide to take back your acceptance. So make sure to do your work and try now, while there is still time to build up a good application for colleges,” said Charlie True, 11.

Just make sure to think about the future, and that will make these times easier when searching for the motivation to get through it all.
