Gordon Hayward, 27 year old forward for the Boston Celtics, has suffered a devastating injury. The Brownsburg High School and Butler University graduate was predicted to be one of the best players in the league for this season, however, this prediction was called off when Hayward dislocated his left ankle and fractured his tibia.

On Tuesday, October 17th, Hayward came down onto his ankle wrong five minutes into the season and was then wheeled off the court on a stretcher. This was a disheartening event for many people in Indiana because of the hope they had for his success.

He had surgery the day after his injury, and Hayward is now on his way to recover, but will unfortunately not be back in time for the rest of the 2017-2018 season. Through his contract, Gordon Hayward has been given 8.4 million dollars to recover, but again, will not be returning this year.
