Where to go for Fall

Fall is a beautiful time of year. The trees shed their colorful leaves, the weather gets cooler, and the holidays are just around the corner. This fall, I got to visit some very special places that have fall themes.

The Riley Festival is a festival that celebrated the life of James Whitcomb Riley, who is also known as “The Hoosier Poet.”

The festival takes place in downtown Greenfield for three days. There are vendors who showcase their crafts, dresses, jewelry, and so much more. There is even a kid’s area that has a bouncy house and games. They have tons of festival foods as well, including my personal favorite, pineapple whip ice cream. Riley Fest is a great place to walk around with friends and see all of the amazing merchandise that people have created.

Another place to go for fall is Tuttles. Tuttles is an apple orchard not far from Mt. Vernon High School. They have apple and pumpkin picking. They even have their own little festivals, including Peach Fest.

Tuttles has everything: a play area for kids, a pumpkin patch, an apple orchard, hay rides, and shopping. They even have a bee observatory where visitors can watch bees in their hive. Tuttles also has an amazing selection of food, like peach and apple slushies, caramel apples, donuts, and so much more.

State parks are also a great place to go for fall, and camping is not required. State parks often have their own traditions for the fall season, such as s’mores, pumpkin decorating contests, and costume parties. They also have beautiful scenery and lakes for fishing.

There are so many fun places to go for fall, whether it is a festival or an orchard or a state park. All of these places have fun activities that people can participate in. Whether it’s shopping, camping, or just hanging out with family and friends, these places are the perfect places to go to for fall.
