Eliot Rosewater is a character who shows up in many of the books written by Kurt Vonnegut. The Rosewater award is an award that is given to one young adult book every year. In 2016, the winner was “All the Bright Places” by Jennifer Niven and “Everything, Everything” by Nicola Yoon, is nominated this year.

“This year’s list of Eliot Rosewater books offers a variety of genres and several that could be in the running for the award,” saids Mrs. Zelencik. “It’s a great year to read the Rosies.”

Each year there are 25 books on the list. On this list is a book called “Guitar Notes,” which is about two teens bonding over a shared guitar and the little notes they write to each other. There is also a book called “Dumplin’,” which is about an overweight girl joining a beauty pageant to prove a point. Below are the list of books for this year:

If anyone is interested in any of the Rosewater books, they can go get one of them from the school library. Anyone who reads even one of the books is eligible to vote, they will be eligible to vote for the book they want to win the award.
