Advice from a senior

Katie Smith, Staff Writer

To all current juniors out there, get ready. This next year is a big one. Most students are excited for their senior years to arrive, but coming from a current senior, it is not all that it is cracked up to be. That’s why I decided to write this piece. I wanted to give advice that, hopefully, all juniors can take to heart because senior year is going to fly by. Here’s some advice to consider for senior year:

  • Do not take people for granted. Most incoming seniors like to go with the flow and let the year fly by, but most seniors do not realize how little time they have with their classmates until it is already gone.
  • Do not let time pass by. Time is finite, so use it wisely because it will not be long before everyone who has been around will be continuing on in life.
  • Do not let senioritis take over. Senioritis is a big epidemic, and at some point, every senior will start to feel senioritis coming. Keep up with assignments, pay attention in classes, and remember that colleges look at senior year grades, too.
  • Make senior year great. At the end of it all, everyone looks back and says that it is one of the most memorable years of high school. Take every opportunity given, join every club, make every memory possible, and never look back.
