The most delicious time of the year

Tis’ the season when every Meijer, Kroger, and Wal-Mart has a stand where little girls are selling cookies. Girl Scout cookies have become a classic American snack; it’s hard to find someone who hasn’t tried them, and many people consider themselves something of Girl Scout Cookie aficionados.

“Girl Scout cookies are the key to happiness,” said Amber Corsaro, 11.

Annually, the Girl Scouts sell about 194 million boxes of cookies. To compare, there are only about 319 million people in the United States. That’s enough for about two-thirds of people living in the US to have at least one box of Girl Scout Cookies every year.

There are even some people who have figured out more unique ways of eating their Girl Scout cookies, such as crumbled over ice cream.

“Thin mints are better in the freezer,” suggested Savannah Tolliver, 11.

Other alternative ways of eating Girl Scout cookies include blending them into milkshakes, making them into pie crusts, and putting broken pieces into yogurt.

“Girl Scout Cookies are pretty much the best things ever,” said Austin Jones, 12.

With people who feel that passionately about Girl Scout Cookies, it is clear to see why they are such an iconic snack.
