Old books, new discoveries

Purchasing books can be expensive. Any college student would agree. As a student myself, albeit a high school one, I have also come across the difficulty of finding books that are not going to break the bank and also be in good condition.

I discovered ThriftBooks a few weeks ago and became intrigued with the site. The website boasts different deals and genres of books that can be found for much less than other sites with a variety of conditions of the books. I needed to purchase some books for an AP Literature and Composition project, and I love writing in books, so I decided to purchase some books.

The deals were great for the condition of the books. I bought three books for around $10.

Overall, the experience was kind of harrowing. I ordered “Villette” and “Jane Eyre” by Charlotte Bronte and “Second Chance Summer” by Morgan Matson. I received a Judy Blume book instead of “Villette.” I was very sad and disappointed that I did not get one of the books I ordered.

I filed a complaint on the ThriftBooks’ website. I also looked for reviews from other customers, many of which were mixed results. I have yet to send back the Judy Blume book, but plan to in the near future.
