The night was swingin’

Swinging the Night Away was a choir concert on Friday, February 24. This concert featured all three MVHS choirs and the two acapella groups and swing dancing. A jazz band, the Mississinewa Valley Swing Band, performed live music. The choir took a break from their singing every once in awhile to dance, too.

The choir kids all performed in this concert. This is an especially bittersweet performance for the seniors, though.

“I am both happy and sad about Swinging the Night Away,” said Samantha Hanson, 12. “This was my final time performing at Swinging the Night Away. I very much enjoy the songs Ms. Anderson selects for us to perform and I especially love being able to swing dance during the dance breaks for when the professional jazz band that comes in plays.”

The audience enjoyed the performance as well.

“I really enjoyed Swinging the Night Away,”  said Lily Hampton, 10. “Every single performer was full of energy. My favorite part of the night was getting active and dancing with the performers while they taught me the super quick dance moves.”

Overall, Swinging the Night Away was a success. The choirs and acapella definitely sang and swung the whole night away.
