Five water bottle filling stations have been added to MVHS hallways.

Justin Barr, David Hook, Makayla Plain, Lillyon Oak, Mathew Lahey, Jordan Pasma, and Jasper Ferrand, all sophomores, joined together to get MVHS these water bottle fillers under the leadership of Ms. Smith.  These students are in a group called the Green Machine.

“The Green Machine is a group that wants to try to make our school healthier,” said Lillyon Oak, 10.

The Green Machine team members said that they were having fun with this project because they are doing this project with their friends.

“My favorite part about this was hanging out my friends and doing something new,” said Makayla Plain,10.

In addition to the water fountains, the students also worked to get refillable water bottles for students and faculty members to purchase for use in the fountains. The water bottles are high quality plastic. They are available in a 34 oz bottle. These bottles are clear plastic that will not leak and are BPA free, meaning they are not toxic. They will cost $5 each and they will be available for sale on Tuesday, January 31.

The water bottle filling stations were installed on Friday. The fillers are from the RetroFit Kit, which is $500.
